Getup!!!!!!

Hey folks,

I hope this February is treating you well and you are reaching your health and fitness goals like you had planned.

I think it’s safe to say that heading to the gym consistently, eating well, getting the best sleep, and trying to not stress out is the best way to achieve the results you’re looking for.

One of the biggest problems with getting to the gym consistently, is that we get bored easily. The treadmill and the fitness machines can only do so much after a little while. That’s why we started Lift and Learn here at Core Principles.

It’s an opportunity for people to learn the basics of a Kettlebell, so that you can get strong, toned, and achieve the results you want.

Today, I want to talk about one of my favorite kettlebell movements and exercises to help you get a total body workout and really engage your core.

The Turkish Getup

The Turkish Getup is the swiss army knife of movements when done with or without a kettlebell. The Getup is awesome for so many reasons. From strength building to improving shoulder and hip health to preserving your ability to get up off the ground, there are endless benefits to this movement. I call it the swiss army knife of movements because you move through a ton of positions and hit almost every single movement pattern, while also strengthening areas that are often overlooked.

Check out the videos here on how to do a Getup.

If you want to learn how to do the Getup with safe and proper form, and progressions that are right for you, than join me on Saturday March 16Th from 11AM-1PM at Core Principles Fitness.

Best,

Coach Jim
