In this week’s video, we are covering a question that comes up a lot: What can I eat for lunch that:requires little to no prep, will keep me satisfied, and is not highly processed? Do you struggle with that midday break to eat lunch like me?? Many of my clients have come to me really at a loss for lunch specifically, because they haven’t made a plan, and they either grab handfuls of random things together, go through a drive thru, or skip it all together! Does that sound like you? Well, check out this week’s video to see my recommendations for how to make sure those lunches don’t thwart your progress to reaching your health goals. Are you a “perfectionist"? When you strive for perfection, you have good intentions. You want to take care of your health, feel your best, and live a long and happy life with loved ones. One way that perfectionism can show up in our health is through a fancy term known as cognitive distortion also known as all-or-nothing thinking. Striving for excellence can be a really wonderful thing! It means it is important to you to look after yourself! However, all or nothing thinking can also lead to disappointment, burnout, and self-criticism when we inevitably miss a day, or go “off plan”. When our focus is on getting a “perfect” outcome, we lose satisfaction and enjoyment along the way and lose sight of other measures of progress. Want to know one of the greatest predictors of long term success with any behavior change? FLEXIBILITY. Flexibility allows you to come as you are on your best day AND on your worst day. It fosters self-compassion, and helps you to keep moving forward. Check out this video below to find out more!

Have you ever felt “snackish”? That underlying feeling like you just need to nibble on something but you’re pretty sure you aren’t hungry, because you just ate like an hour ago? Those snacking gremlins can rear their ugly heads when you are most vulnerable and before you know it, you are reaching for handfuls of this and that just to keep them at bay. The worst part is, they are keeping you from making progress without even knowing it!

Have you ever had a time in your life when you just can’t get to the gym, because you are injured or sick, or you are taking care of a loved one and life is nuts? It is SO frustrating and the fear of losing all of your progress (Or gaining weight) comes creeping in. You are definitely not alone, and I have GOOD NEWS for you! You can still lose fat, and maintain your progress even when you can’t workout. That’s what this week’s video is all about. I have worked with lots of clients who are recovering from knee surgery, or they’ve been injured and have to take a break from the gym, and others who are in a season of life where they are unable to prioritize the gym like they used to, but they don’t want to throw in the towel for their health. That’s where your nutrition and healthy habits come in! And, to be perfectly honest, most fat loss that people seek comes from changes in your eating, not just adding more movement. Check out this week’s video if you want to know my favorite things to make progress towards my goals, even when I can’t workout.

It’s been a few weeks since you’ve heard from me, but I am BACK! How has the start of your spring been going? I know as the weather gets warmer and with the change of seasons, many of us feel extra motivated to focus on health goals. The change of seasons can do that. Many of my 1:1 clients talk about how the warmer weather offers them a feeling of a fresh start and an extra boost of motivation! What about you? Do you think about the change of seasons this way? If so, then you are on to something! The truth is, behavior change is HARD, which is why one of my constant goals is to find ways to make changes EASIER for me, my clients, and YOU! Recently, while reading a book on behavior change, How To Change , I learned about something I just couldn’t wait to share with you. It’s all about leveraging the moments in our lives that make us feel more optimistic and ready for the changes we know we want to make. For some people, that might be retiring from a long career, for others, that might be a recent health diagnosis. Fresh starts are all around us! Check out the video below and let me know what you think!

I was tired, I was emotional, and I was in desperate need of a change." Here is her now at 76, versus then:
